Historically, minorities in America have had to overcome institutionalized racism, bigotry, and xenophobia before creating a legitimate space for themselves within American society. Currently, Muslims in America are facing this same challenge. The minority communities that were able to overcome this challenge did so by confidently working for social progress while empowered by knowledge of their constitutional civil rights.
Join us on Saturday April 18, 2015 from 6pm-8pm, for a presentation on this very topic. We will be hosting one of the leading national Muslim civil rights advocates, Brother Hassan Shibly of CAIR-Florida, In-Shā-Allāh. The presentation will be followed by a robust Q&A session. Both Brothers and Sisters are invited to come and participate.
